About PEURIST

PEURIST is a start-up fashion retailer, focused on bringing the quality, fit and style of European menswear to America at affordable prices.

Why 'PEURIST'?

PEURIST is the culmination of one man's obsession with discounted European fashion. Having shopped at the now defunct east coast retailer Daffy's for many years, he decided it was time to venture out on his own and share his love and passion for European clothing with others.

The name PEURIST is intended to bring your attention attention to the letters 'EU' -- to highlight the fact that the majority of our merchandise is European clothing. Unlike some retailers that for some reason try and hide this fact, we are proud of the fact that you will find great European fashion here at PEURIST. And, if you find yourself fed up with the bulky, often poor quality items found in most U.S. retailers, and refuse to buy anything other than European merchandise, you are, like our founder, a PEURIST.

Our Merchandise

Our merchandise selection focuses on quality and value over name-brands. So expect to see a lot of brands that you have never heard of, including several that are not sold anywhere else in the U.S. While the brands may not be the most well known, those who are in the know, or are willing to become educated about the tremendous quality of merchandise available in Europe, will find unique treasures worthy of their hard earned dollars.

How to Shop

PEURIST provides two methods of shopping --

Online Shopping

If you are shopping online, be sure to look at the full Description of the item, and the Additional Information, both available at the bottom of each item page. The Description contains a fit recommendation, particularly for those that have never bought European items before, and the Additional Information tab contains approximate measurements for each item -- our goal is to give you as much information up front so that you can determine whether the garment will properly fit, and hopefully prevent any unnecessary returns

Trunk-style**

If the traditional online shopping model doesn't work for you, we can always form a hybird -- give us your measurements, and style tastes, and we're more than happy to put together a selection of merchandise for you and send it your way. Return what you don't want and keep what you do -- simply reach out to us on our Contact page, or call us at 201-540-9286 between 11AM-6PM Eastern -- we're here for you, and simply want to make your shopping experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. **Note that items marked as 'FS' or 'FINAL SALE' on the site are final sale, with no refunds or exchanges. Full shipping and returns policy available at http://peurist.com/shipping-returns.

Fit & Sizing

If you've never shopped for European clothing before, you might be in for a bit of a shock.

Fit: Generally speaking, European items are cut very slim and are much more tailored and fitted than the what you will find in the U.S. But even with that general idea in mind, realize that each designer and manufacturer cuts his or her line differently, so there are still a wide array of fits, even within the same range of goods. Be sure to read the item descriptions carefully, including the 'Manny Says' fit guide, and the approximate measurements provided under the 'Sizing & Additional Info' tab.

Length: Shirts do not have sleeve lengths, and pants do not have inseam lengths. Instead, shirts only have collar measurements and pants come in one standard length - that is because they are intended to be taken to a tailor for final touches. Thus, if you're buying a shirt, look for the collar measurement and then check the remainder of the measurements on the 'Sizing & Additional Info' tab. And if you're buying pants, look for your waist size, and similarly check the remaining measurements - the length will need to be altered on any pair of pants that you buy from PEURIST, unless you are very tall indeed.

Conversion: Outerwear and pants are sized differently in Europe. We have done the conversion for you on all of the items, but provide you with a reference chart below. Note that all of the suits we sell here on PEURIST have, in terms of size, matching blazers and pants. That is to say, if you are buying a size 36US/46EU suit, you will be getting a blazer marked 46EU and a pair of pants marked 46EU, which means your blazer will be the equivalent of a size 36US and the pants will be the equivalent of a size 30US. Please keep this in mind during your purchase.
